Fighting Spirit Bullet and Wave Bomb are just English translations of Kiaidama and Hadodan. "Kiai" means "fighting spirit", and "Hado" means "wave motion" or "vibration".

Aura Sphere and all of the "Pulse" moves have "Hado" in their names in Japanese. I.E. Dark Pulse is called Aku no Hado and Dragon Pule is called Ryu no Hado.

The English localized names maintain the meanings of the originals, while sounding better to actually say in English.
