When the Italy region comes out we'll get a Ghost/Rock type pokemon named Gorgonsoula that steals trainers souls by turning them into stone.
It'll be waifu-ish but also covered in blue veins.

Tangela was sort of based on one, but I agree. Maybe we could have a Rock type gorgon or something.
Or, maybe we could also base it off a jellyfish, since they're sometimes called medusas (and they have tentacles)

My ideal Gorgonmon would be a fairy type that uses the sleep status as a stand in for petrification. I imagine it working as a nurse joy partner mon like Chansey or Audino, making use of the contrast between horrifying snake monster and friendly nurse.
