>>43463778>>43463678Remember, this is VGC these are being ranked by. Incineroar has everything the meta needed rolled into one pokemon.
First of all, its natural bulk is only beaten by Swampert out of all starters. Torterra ties it overall, but then you have to account for its Intimidate, which effectively makes it the bulkiest starter. Then you have fake out, which is important in doubles, then you have U-Turn to go out and cycle in another Intimidate, Snarl to further lower your opponent's damage, Will-O-Wisp to completely cripple your opponent. It has so many support moves for VGC. It's slow, but that's a good thing when U-Turning into a less bulky mon. Since most of its support moves are damaging moves, it can wear an Assault Vest to make it immovable. It's dual-type, but has no x4 weaknesses; its weaknesses are to Rock, Ground, Fighting, and Water, with the exception of Water, all of those types are used by predominantly physical attackers, which will be Intimidated. The dual-typing gives it dual stab in Dark and Fire, both of which are decent types, the latter means it cannot be burned. It got its own signature move: an 85power Dark move that ignores defensive and evasion boost, which can be powered-up into its own signature Z-move in gen 7.
Its only rival is Arcanine, which does most of what Incineroar does, but 1. cannot U-Turn, 2. has lower defences, 3. has lower attack. What Arcanine has is that it's significantly faster than Incineroar, which Incineroar could get away with when people couldn't push the big button, ignore its fake outs, and stomp it. People had Z-moves before, but you could predict them and go back on the offensive. That's why Arcanine has comeback, because it can outspeed most things.
