>>43466574on that I can agree, it doesn’t feel like a multiplayer Pokémon adventure but I think a lot of that has to do with the community, people have a tendency to scheme by themselves into one of the 20 different chats/five channels and as such there’s basically no interaction in the overworld besides battles and trades but you’re never gonna be ready for those
to fix this I would propose converting certain areas into dedicated pvp zones where your presence indicates a willingness to battle so people looking to fight can just go there and find opponents. trading is a bit of a different beast because there’s a good chance nobody will have something you want but there’s a dedicated chat for that so it’s not as much of an issue.
As for places to put these “battle zones”, they would be in optional areas that don’t have anything else in them. So no caves, no gyms, no Silph Co or department store. Here are some ideas:
-WiFi Tower, Jubilife City(I like this one the best)
-the second floor of that one building where you meet Ghetsis, Castelia City
-Celadon Mansion 2nd and 3rd floors, Celadon City
-Game Corner, Mauville and Veilstone City
-Anville Town if they ever bother to add it
-actually all of Gear Station could work, Nimbasa City
-Market, Driftveil City(maybe, there are shops there)
-Cafe Sonata, Castelia City
-that big house in undella town, Undella Town
and so on. Thoughts?
