It hasn't matched Pokémon's performance worldwide by any metric anon. Just because it sold more in Japan (as it usually does) does not mean Game Freak will care about it (the fact Nintendo didn't announce it had broken Pokémon's WW 1st week performance, much less it took a month to hit 5m digital and fuck all physical indicate it didn't do as well as you think overall). They know the majority of players of AC in Japan are 20-somethings dreaming of owning their own land and being their own boss, as always.
Meanwhile, they're continuing to rake in money hand over fist from merch and everything else associated with the brand while you continue to cry and it continuing on its current course.
