Thought experiment.
Game Freak releases updates for all Gen 6-8 games that lets you skip both cutscenes and dialogue boxes by pressing Start. How does your overall opinion of Gens 6-8 change?

Just because I can now play the game doesn't mean it's suddenly good. Unskippable trashy cutscenes are just the nugget on top of the brap cake that is nu pokemon.

7 becomes immensely more replayable.
6 stays mostly the same but was already enjoyable due to snappy movement and PSS anyway.
8 goes from trash to mediocre.

7 gets much better on replay. It's already the best of the three, even in terms of story, just a chore to get through those cutscenes every time.

Look op in my opinion the stories are pretty weak in 6,the team is boring, the champion is meh and you can already tell the evil team leader by his color scheme so I’m just skipping the fuck out of all the cutscenes

Gen 7 is not as weak and it was neat to see Ather being villains and team skull is pretty good, so if I ever had to use it, only on gladion and that god awful tutorial

Gen 8 is fucking boring to me,I mean the fire gun leader is neat but the whole story is just pure shit, we all knew rose was gonna be the big baddie sense there was no real threat with team Yell,so I’m skipping every fucking scene in gen 8

I would be able to hoard legendary pokemon quicker on poke bank that I already caught. It like those damn excessive dialogues were put in there to discourage me from doing that. I have 3 necrozmas, 3 of each of the tapus, and 3 silvallys. It's nice having 5 lunalas.
