Fairy is basically just the anti-dark type. While Dark represents edgyness, Fairy covers pretty much anything lighthearted, such as clowns and candy.

Dragon isn't beasts it's literally the draconic races. It's why sceptile and ampharos get dragon type when they mega since they're reptilian. It is a matter of power though, and why not all draconic like pokemon aren't dragon type.

And fairy works as its own type but a lot of the mons they gave the type to or made fairy are stupid. Fae are whimsical sprites/beings connected intimately with nature. But shit like clefable (an ET) or slurpuff (I'm mean seriously) make the type and concept terribly executed. There are a couple of conceptually good ones though like mega altaria, primarina, whimsicott, or grimmsnarl.

I'm almost certain it is implied Clefairy is not of the planet, and the name means whatever pun it means but it doesn't change the fact that it mocks its own type. All I said is it's a shit design based off a 'clever' name. Dragapple is based off a play on the word 'wyrm' and it still got a decent design. Slurpuff is literally just a fat retard looking blob.

What? The fairy icon is ribombee or flabebe, not clefable. Clefable was normal type for over 4 generations, I never think of clefable as fairy until I'm reminded they changed it to it.
And no, if you can't pick up on the sarcasm used in the opening topic of this thread, we're talking about how the fairy type fucks off on designs more than any other type. Hence why they borrowed a bunch of older gen mons to turn into the type

It literally nulls your entire argument. If the didn't give the pokemon with fairy in it's fucking name the type then it either wasn't supposed to be that type or they didn't acknowledge the type should be its own. Then when they did the majority of the best designed ones were the retyped older mons. That's what I meant by that.
