They aren't turn-based. Turn-based combat in any game is just an abstraction of real-time combat. They are not literally standing there letting themselves get hit.

The anime battles are literally based on reference sheets given to them by Game Freak and in-game Pokedex entries. So that is indeed what battles are game.

The turn-based battles in the games have no artistic motivation. They're like that purely because technical limitations prevented Game Freak from animating actual battles.

That's the problem.
The more information they give us, the less is left to the imagination.
When the environments accurately reflect the battlefield and the Pokemon are actually there, it's awkward for battle animations to be so low-quality.

They're undodgable for gameplay purposes, retard. In reality, any attack can be dodged.

It's the same damn thing. The only difference is the presence of a trainer. Wild Pokemon fight exactly the same way trained ones do, they just fight on their own without a trainer giving them orders.

It's not turn-based. No one just stands still in a fight and lets their opponent hit them. Fighting doesn't work like that.

Nice try. What we see and read in game is very different than the anime battles. Masuda even said that the game and anime are separate universes taking place in the same locations

I don't really understand what you're trying to say, here. It's not just the environment that's in 3D, it's *everything* including the characters and the fight itself, all of this animated in a way that what's on the screen looks like it's happening in real time. It's still possible to imagine the battle as you really wish it was, but 3D is very overpowering compared to the old 2D abstractions and makes it harder.
