Why would they? They get a hefty publisher's cut every year, more consoles sold with the release of said games and critically, doo not need to spend time or money to achieve this aim, leaving them free to concentrate on their own projects.

If Disney actually bought Pokemon, at least there would be a decent sized budget going towards the production of the mainline games, we'd probably finally get beta battle revolution style battle animations. Also, Disney buying Pokemon wouldn't have to mean the general sound and art design would change, Masuda and Ohmori would probably be still involved in story and character designs, although probably forced to make the main rival a black girl or something. The games would receive heavy revamps in their technical aspects, making online play more accessible and expansive, and marketing would get a complete overhaul.

Somehow, I'm not convinced about that. China didn't even like the original Mulan - It made the equivalent of 50,000 USD over there. Chinks thought it was bastardizing their stories so it bombed hard.
It's far more likely that they were trying to cash in on A) feminism by having a warrior female lead, B) nostalgia for the animated film or more accurately one of its songs, and C) Chink-Americans not mainland chinks.

That's why they changed a lot of things. No more songs, no more dragon buddy, and probably other things I can't remember. But all they did was fucking up the movie even more for all other audiences.

Yes and no. Episode 7 made a shit ton of money and created the expectation that all would do investing better. When numbers started to slip even though they made a shit ton of money it didn't meet expectations. 9 did "bad" by Disney's own numbers and is likely what landed Bob Igor in trouble

They made a lot of money but not nearly enough to recoup what they paid for the franchise. The toy lines are shelfwarmers. The theme parks (and that crazy expensive LARP hotel which isn't even finished yet) would probably make the purchase worth it if the planet wasn't shut down indefinitely.
