roses characterization here made me uncomfortable, not because it was poorly written but he's genuinely manipulative and somewhat malicious (even if he doesnt outright state he is) and you really feel like you're in oleanas shoes for those moments where she's supsicious of him.
there's just something disgusting yet intriguing about people like him in fiction.
also smart bimbofication is pretty cool.
