I also wish a "stomach pokemon" looked a bit more like a cartoon stomach but what I came to understand was that gulpin and swalot are supposed to be big dumplings, buns or mocchi. It's a cute idea, so they're kind of Kirby-like eating machines, but that wasn't communicated too well either. I like that the result is something weird enough to feel like it's own monster rather than an animal, plant or object but there's just something the designs are missing.
