Girls don't care too much about literal self insertion since they couldn't even play as a female until gen 2
Brown races don't care too much about it since they couldn't play as another Brown character until gen 6, gen 7 for darker brown people.
Japs don't give a shit because they are a culture of cute reigning supreme.
I have only ever seen the complaint of playing as a female from white males. Everyone else just has fun doing whatever.
