Pokemon transfer mechanics aren't entirely anonymous, more like elaborate adoption schmes that can give the surrendering trainer some idea of where their Pokemon has gone, if not a new acquaintance in the new trainer. Could be messy, but since its Pokemon I chose to think its usually pleasant and frankly I like the illusion of continuity.
