Older pokemon actually had personalities to them. They had quirks that separated them from actual animals. This thing? It's. Just. A. TOUCAN.

Not a new concept.
What makes it stand out compared to Raticate is that it has lees details.
I must confess I have a bias towards how the older mon were drawn than the new but I don't mind it much.
i might also have a bias since I found a shiny pikipek on route 1 when I first played Sun and took it to the E4.

I love the fact that this has a Skill Link without the HA and Sheer Force as HA.
also the design itself is cool to me + shiny colours make it look kind of neon-like.
Sometimes just an angry cannon-like toucan is better than an overdesigned mon

It should've been a standalone bird like skarmory or cramorant. It fucked up the woodpecker theme in the pikipek line and instead became a normal ass toucan that can shoot stuff from his beak (yet remains a physical attacker)

This is really the main dividing issue. GF, despite their incompetence with 3D, has been trying to design more creatures with 3D in mind. On the one hand, this potentially creates a more robust experience with that creature as you get to see it actively show off its concept. On the other hand, it can also rob a creature of its ability to immediately display what its concept is clearly.
