Do we even have a wolf pokemon?
It's incredible that despite there being a lot of wolf monsters in the world's mythology, Game Freak still hasn't made a wolf pokemon.

what if pleistocene animals were turned into ice-type fossils rather than rock types by having parts of them preserved in ice?
smilodon with icicle teeth or woolly rhino with giant ice horn seem appropriate

Ice fossils wouldn't be a bad idea, it'll give some fresh ideas than the normal fossilmons. However not all pleistocenemons should be Ice because only a handful actually lived near or on the ice caps.
