Zinnia's theme is alright but it's nowhere near the best. I'd give that to one of PMD Sky's tracks from the stretch from Grovyle's sacrifice to the credits sequence.

She no longer does, Rose does. But her theme is damn good. Also people only hate her because she's a bit of a naive teen with a flawed plan on how to get things done and is a centerpiece of the story. It's basically themselves if they were relevant in any way and they hate themselves.

Her theme is only okay, and is boosted tremendously by remixes. If you listen to the Smash version, or Gametal's extensively, you really start to notice how underwhelming it is.
Lance/Red, Maxie/Archie, Cyrus, Team Galactic Admin, Platinum's Frontier Brain music, Gen 3's E4 theme, Steven's, Cynthia's, and Alder's Champion themes, and Gen 5's rendition of the gen 1 Champion theme are all better just off the top of my head.

Dennis is a contender, but relies on empathizing with Ghestis to be appreciated as not just a discordant clusterfuck. As far as discordant clusterfucks go, I think it's still better than Zinnia's theme, but whatever.

I'm not even getting into the themes of individual pokemon, either, or what Colosseum or XD gave us.

Eh, not always true.
Violins fill a similar role to vocals in terms of composition. For people who like that sonorant quality, but either want a mix-up from vocals, or want to not worry about following the lyrics, violin can be quite enjoyable.
Agreed that it gets overhyped for that reason, though.
