What's with that mentality that the only people who like a certain gen are those who grew up with it? Like right now, "kids who grew up with gen 6 will come of age and come here to defend the games soon enough" or "you only like gen # because you grew up with it". Do people seriously believe this? I've been playing since gen 2 and while I do remember Silver fondly I think it was just okay, while I love XY despite its glaring flaws, to give an example.
