It's because Lets Go was always intended to be on the Switch. Where as SWSH was orginally gonna be a 3DS title and forced to be ported to the Switch during development.

LGPE only looks better in hindsight because of how shit SWSH is. Don't pretend that these games weren't so derided Masa-san stepped down as game director.

Let's GO is weird because the region itself (along with Johto and Hoenn) feel directed by the existence of Pokemon. To me they have this distinct feel that is amplified if you've ever played a Stadium game. Not even having actual ingame tournaments like in Galar has made me feel that feeling of the fact that the world I'm in with the first three regions is very crazy into Pokemon training.
It is with this that Let's GO pretty much feeling like a game with more care at least for me. It's familiar and it's safe. Every gimmick in the new games that is added feels like a gamble and the region gets farther and farther away from putting me in with a bunch of trainers even though the entire plot of Sword and Shield is exactly this.

Textures and models are low budget, but they are consistent, detailed and match the scope of the whole game. Its visuals are the game's strongest point.
This game's issues lie elsewhere - mainly in how much it cuts and said scope (honestly, it would be better if they kept making handheld-tier games).

It had loads of polish but that's not exactly hard when the game had an existing game to work off of and much less stuff to polish. I'd take SwSh over it any day even if only for the wild area

I think I'd prefer SS without the wild area. As it is that's pretty much a daily pokémon vending machine.
I feel like routes and caves would be beefier and more abundant if they didn't have a wild area to throw 'mons and budget at.

Nah. "The credits roll has neat drawings" doesn't wash away all the bad of Let's Go. Walking up to Giovanni and watching him just frozen in place instead of looking at me and other shit shows it is clearly cheaper and less effortful than SwSh.
