Don't matter to me.

Exp Share toggle made perfect sense, and I don't know why they got rid of it.
Real time battles could be fun if Masters is any indication, but wouldn't fit the main series, as people have come to expect the battle system to stay consistent, barring gimmicks.
Difficulty options would be great, and make rom hacks/emulation slightly less common I'd think.

Gen 2 was the last time we had a significant upgrade from one game to the next. More recently, gen 6 and 8 both sold better than their predecessor just for being the first game of their respective generation and console.

Yea pokemon fans complain about how samey the games are and then complain if they aren't carbon copies of each other it's absurd. I agree with all of this except the turn based battles thing, they need to be turn based because that's what pokemon battling is. People who think real time is an objective upgrade from turn based don't understand shit to begin with tho. That's like saying "NOOOOOO, why can't I just physically knock over the king with my queen I just need to make these few moves to get it, why does my opponent get an opportunity to act in between all moves, nooooo". Different systems exist for different reasons, real time battles are for games that have combat focused on twitch reflexes and such, turn based combat is for strategy based stuff, and pokemon is a HEAVILY strategy based game. people who want real time battles don't actually like pokemon and are trying to get the game to mimic their favorite action rpg or something
