>>43537555I dunno, I always thought the battle with the rival at Mt. Moon and the optional battle at the Pokemon League had more of an impact. This one, I think, is hurt by the fact that it feels more like you and your sidekick fighting Lance and his sidekick. It isn't two near-equals teaming up at last to fight some extremely strong foe(s), it's you and a guy who's barely better than dead weight fighting two people who you've already beaten before.
This is partly inevitable because you, the PC, are always going to be way better than NPCs outside of battle facilities and stuff like that, but I think it could've been handled a bit better.
