Whole game was moody as fuck, right off the bat you're hit with that lake music. Regions extremely diverse, with every type of land you can think of from snowy north mountains to swamps. Has tons of content from the post game, the battle frontier in platinum, the huge region full of optional areas to explore, all the bonus stuff like contests and berries and whatever else. Has the atmosphere of a region full of mythical history, one of the last games to really dive into Pokemon lore, wonderful aesthetic and music to match.
Gen 4 also had some of the best spin offs of the series, as well as the best remakes of the series. Last gen to have a pokemon stadium.
We'll never see anything like it again. Feels bad.
