There is no cycle. You could wait ten years and we'd still hate gen 6-8 (gen 9 will save the franchise though)

The common line is that even though gen 8 is dog shit and actually worse than 7, it doesn't change the fact that gen 7 is still I incredibly shit.

That said I didn't buy gen 8 and gen 7 was garbage so personally even though I dropped gen 8, I don't know if it's actually worse than cut scenes every 3 minutes and your own MC simply being a side character to Lillie's game.

There was never a point where i hated gen 7, it was better than gen 6 in every way possible. The 11/ 10 godly lolis made it even better.

Honestly, yes. I've already started to enjoy everything gen7.

aside from z-moves being absolute trash, gen 7 was pretty good
not particularly bothered by the story and I think the region is at least better in overworld design than than last two, but lacking dungeons really hurts too

I liked Gen 7 when it was new.
My current rankings: 7 = 5 > 2 > 1 > 3 > 6 > 4.
Don't dislike any of them though. Haven't played SwSh yet. Started in 1997 with Blue.
