God, I fucking love the battle frontier, from emerald specifically. I wish other gens did their own thing that offered just as much content instead of copy and pasting the battle frontier or just the tower, it's doomed to live in the shadow of the original. Tho obviously other pokemon games offer post game aside from that but still

How much has everyone's life changed in those 6 years?

I finished med school, got married, and am 2 years into my residency. Kinda wild to think about it, I still remember picking up my copy of ORAS day 1.

Fun fact: The gen 3 games are literally coded in a way that makes savescumming nigh impossible. All of the RNG rolls are predecided at the start of the battle, meaning a miss will always be a miss no matter how many times you reload that turn. The only way to change the RNG roll for that turn is to use another move or switch.

but the battle tower should be like the colosseum one, so you have a sense of progression with the background changing

I bothered with it a lot. I had a Emerald and XD guidebook that I used for both of them for help. In fact I think I still have the XD one laying around somewhere in my closet.

I only remember getting Silver Symbols from the Battle Pike, Battle Dome, Battle Factory, and the Battle Tower. I never got the symbols for the other facilities or any Golds

Survived a seizure but went into a coma afterwards for 3 weeks, Graduated high school, went to Prom 3 times, moved back to New York with my girlfriend, got cheated on by my girlfriend, was homeless for 6 months, got hit by a car but got a good settlement, got my first apartment on my own and kept it for 2 years, moved to North Carolina with my mom after meeting my now fiancé at my best friend’s birthday party. I think the only Gold I ever got was Pike. But gosh did I enjoy these, for the most part.

Dome was my favorite, just because of looking at other trainer's and tourny style. Pyramid was memorable. For some reason I enjoyed Pike.

Hated Palace though.

While yes I never finished any of the facilities, I did spend a lot of time here and enjoying it. As a kid I didn't understand a lot of the mechanics nor did I know about EVs, ivs or what nature's did. I liked how hard it was because the anime hyped it up to be this secret challenge for only the best of the best.

Choice Band Slaking 1HKOs and outruns almost every mon making the battles 3v2. Pair him with an exploding wall like Registeel and you can 1HKO mon 1, Explode on mon 2 and 1HKO mon 3 almost every team without having to worry about Truant.

The fastest Lapras can be unboosted is 123Spd, but one of the Dragon Tamers' Lapras holding Leftovers and no boosts has outsped my 152Spd Slaking and 132Spd Medicham.
I also had Snorlax with just one Curse boost survive my 198Atk Breloom's Focus Punch, this one's less outright cheaty but the Snorlax would have to have maxed HP and Def EVs and IVs.

That would just mean anon lied since there is a database with all the pokemon that can appear at the tower and many people have already gone 100+ matches without finding a pokemon with "impossible stats" (i only made it to seventysomething, but never found one anyway)
