>>43558942Yeah, it's good to see Fairy-types that aren't cutesy, feminine, or pink. People need to remember that Fairy =/= girly. Dark fairies, evil fairies, and trickster fairies are a thing. There are demon-like creatures that have fairy-like powers, as well as fairy tale creatures such as goblins, brownies, and redcaps that represent a blending of fairy-like creatures with evil connotations. Imps in particular are specifically stated to either represent fairies or small demons. Fairy tales also never always have the "happily ever after" shtick; there are some pretty fucked up fables with horrible endings that qualify as fairy tales, and even fairy tales that do have that "happily ever after" have pretty dark or grotesque undertones and scenes. The entire Grimmsnarl line is great, both in design and typing. Having Pokemon with that unique Dark/Fairy typing along with two currently-signature moves, one for each of their types, as well as Prankster shenanigans with the ability to run a wide variety of sets due to its movepool, great offensive and defensive typing, and great stats across the board, is really refreshing. Usually Game Freak does the bare minimum to make Pokemon stand out in such a way that they have done for the Grimmsnarl line. Even when they try to make something stand out, they do so by giving it some shitty gimmick or outlandish signature move. Grimmsnarl doesn't have a gimmick, and its signature moves are ones that I can see being given to other Pokemon as well, especially Spirit Break.
