The mistake is that "Pokemon" and the main game series are discussed and thought of synchronously. This is not the case.
Pokemon =/= The Pokemon Games.
The thing we enjoy is Pokemon.
Whether or not the game series was good doesn't need to sully your view of Pokemon.
Maybe you like the anime, maybe you like the card game, maybe you like the spin-off's. Then again, maybe you dont like any of those.
But isnt it a big deal that you are at this point in your life, and you still care enough about something enough to say something about it.
We have so few years in this universe, so the part of our lives we can choose to spend on things we like must have some meaning to us, even if our lives themselves have no meaning.
I think everyone here feels Pokemon was and still is good. We still get excited when new pokemon get revealed, we still like to allow pokemon to occupy our thoughts.
Maybe there needs to be a bigger disconnect between the "main series" and the realm of pokemon itself. The ability to separate the two displays each in a healthier light.
The fact that so many come here to show off their opinions on whether its good or bad, leads to the conclusion that Pokemon is meaningful. It had some impact on your life. (You) wouldn't be on /vp/ otherwise.
I'm not saying I don't agree with you, but can you agree that Pokemon is meaningful to you, OP?
