Downside to restarting the game

I chose Sobble as a starter but I really dislike Inteleon and have grown to love the Grookey line despite being a waterfag. So it feels like my initial playthrough is tainted. Should I transfer all my mons to home and restart the game? Is there any downside to restarting I am not thinking about?

all the way done, post sword and shield hair-guys. did not yet get any rare items from beating the champions cup tho (like e.g. flame orb).

I feel ya bro, except I stopped being a Waterfag in Gen VII(don't hate the seal but I liked the concept of a ghost owl more)

yeah, seal was definitely testing the limits but to me all of the alola starters have cringe designs so it didn't really matter in the end. But anorexic James Bond Salazzle really is peak bullshit.
