That being said, I agree with your sentiment that every gen has highs and lows and it's annoying that you can't discuss them without being called boomer/zoomer or alternatively dextranny/shill. Like I started emulating Sword around a week ago and while the game has a shitton of glaring flaws and wasted potential, there have been things I genuinely really liked, a truly welcome surprise, but I can't even talk about those things without being called names.
The opposite is also true, sometimes I want to talk about some older game's flaws not in an attempt to genwar, but rather as honest discussion and again, it's all shitty name-calling and accusations. It's like people here don't know that you can argue and discuss topics without fighting or resorting to pettiness.
