Honestly would be fine, aesthetic microtransactions that aren't important for actual gameplay is a much better way of getting money than relying on dual games and third versions with content that should have been in the base game

I would only buy that Ivysaur's skin but let's face it.
if Gamefreak did skins it will
>150 Pikachu skins with different hats

Why having skins when they can make you catch different versions of the same pokemon?

I wouldn't actually mind that as it's a perfectly sound business practice that isn't blatantly anti consumer. Same goes for locking shinies behind paywalls. Locking actual pokemon, however, was still undeniably a scummy move.
