Cant really go wrong with flying, fairy and water monotype. Water monotype can run the Rain team archetype and balance archetype fairly well.

I think types that can have weather support form pretty decent mono type teams. I always enjoyed my Ice or Water mono type teams, but always struggled making a good Dark Type team because dark types cannot really profit from each other in that way.

Sometimes mono ice can mow through teams just because people don't pack enough ice resists, and because alola ninetales is busted.

But Flying and Water are easily better monotypes to run, more options and better stats overall. Steel, Fairy and Ground are also playable just because those are amazing types to be.
