It also spread like wildfire, the pidgeotto thing happened in my 3rd grade room, and from there, some of us started tracing other mons, making duplicates, and trading the duplicates for traces other kids made that we didn't have, but within a couple weeks, basically every room of the school from grades 2 through 5 were in on it.
But yeah, it got shut down once the one kid's parents complained to the school that another kid "stole" their kid's gameboy.
