>>43607436>>43607446The thing with Yellow and Crystal is that they aren't as "definitive" as any of the later third versions. It isn't just Gamefreak making new versions, but trying their hardest to render the original games obsolete and convince people to double dip.
You could still pick something like Red or Gold over the third versions without missing out on much, but there is absolutely no reason to ever play Ruby/Sapphire or Diamond/Pearl over their third versions.
Gen 5 being the only gen to actually try and change this formula (besides 6 but that probably wasn't intended) at all is based.
