You can only catch and use 6 pokemon + 1 HM slave. Any game applicable. Romhacks are fine too. If you're playing X/Y, S/M or US/UM, then you must disable Exp. Share.

replace your starter with salamence or Kommo-o if it is impossible to get salamence. do this at your earliest possible convenience. Fill out the rest of the team with mystery eggs from WFG if you're playing Gen 6, 7, or 8. If you're playing a game from before those gens, this rule does not apply. Go nuts.

read: salamence/kommo-o, not their first stage forms. Figure it out.
