Shedinja is the husk left behind, Shuppet and Banette are dolls that got discarded, Coffagrigus is a fancy possessed box, Golurk is a clay pot with a spirit inside, Honedge line are physical swords people can hold, Phantump is wood, Sandyghast is sand, the list kinda goes on and on.
Point is Ghosts in pokemon are often dead things in a physical form. In DBZ dead people get to possess their bodies for a little while. They would be the equivalent of a Ghost type in the pokemon world, but the "Ghosts" in DBZ still get punched without issue.
>>43613561Filler or no, it's still cannon to the series. They never contradicted it, and it just establishes that ghosts can punch each other. Even if the characters' typing change, the attack typing would stay the same. Ergo if Tien can punch a ghost while dead, he should be able to punch a ghost when he's alive too.
Also, DBZ characters can sense energy and feel people from halfway across a planet. I have to think that would give them "foresight", which would let normal and fighting attacks land anyway.
