Explain Pokémon types to me. What the fuck is a Dragon-type and how is pic related one?

Types are elements. Pokemon that belong to a type have elemental powers related to that type.

Same way that Ghost and Bug are.

Dragon in Pokemon is an element and Pokemon that manipulate that element are Dragon type. Other franchises like Monster Hunter also have Dragon as an element with creatures that don't look like conventional dragons belongs to it.

Types are more like elemental affinities. They shouldn't be taken literally. Being a Dragon type doesn't mean you ARE a dragon, it just means you have an affinity towards that element. Dragon types are simply Pokemon that are good at using Dragon energy.

Morpeko dex entry from Sword:

>Intense hunger drives it to extremes of violence, and the electricity in its cheek sacs has converted into a Dark-type energy.

And Kubfu has an organ in its body that produces "fighting energy". And stuff like plates, gems, and Z-Crystals also pretty much confirm that types are elemental attributes, not physical ones.

Types are just flavors of "infinity energy".
Dragon-type infinity energy is just typical of dragons, but a mon doesn't necessarily have to be a literal dragon to possess dragon energy.
Just like how mons that are blatantly dragons like Charizard and Gyarados don't have dragon energy.

These guys have got it all wrong.
Types aren't purely "elements", they're also a reflection of how Pokemon fight and interact with the world. Bug is a type for example because a bug does not attack and interact with the world in the same way a generic animal would.
Dragons are fierce reptiles; they fight using brute force and have tough scales that protect them from many basic elements.

It’s like a blob of life. The dragon type is sort of related to to lifeforce (Zygarde, Reshiram). That said, dragon is pretty vague and is used inconsistently, often in place of a better typing, like flying in the case of Dragapult for example. I think they made Goomy dragon because you can look at it and call it poison or water or fairy but Dragon is somehow a better label for the combined, weird impression of those elements.
