HGSS feraligatr is perfect imo, that and the 2nd gen sprites.
3rd gen sprites can look god awful and it's coin toss whether a mon looks like shit in 3D

Man HG/SS perfected the sprites. Everything looked good, even with some of the bad changes

I'll just give an example of it with blastoise for instance.
1st Gen: Yellow has the best front image without a doubt
2nd Gen: Silver actually uses the canons which is amazing with the stance.
3rd Gen: what the fuck did they do holy fuck go back
4th Gen: DPPt had the perfect blastoise sprite imo.
5th Gen: usually these are just animated Pt sprites
6th-8th Gen: what the fuck are the canons in a void what the hell HAVE THEY DONE

agreed alongside platinum having gems as well. a pokemon like scizor always looks great.

Did Stadium have the same problems as xy and onwards?
I can’t remember what the models even looked like, and I never played stadium2
Colosseum, from memory, had fine models, but that was also a decade and a half ago

I already knew he wasn't going to improve in 3D since i already saw how he looked like in Stadium.

Honestly i don't like a lot of pokemon in 3D.

Well, my favorite Pokemon is Magneton, and Magnemite can be caught very early on in Gen 7, but if we're just talking the obligatory early rodent/bird/bug, then Noctowl takes the cake. Although, if I ever play SwSh, Orbeetle might just steal that spot.

About that with feraligatr, I believe every sprite is cool its own way, but when he reaches 3d he gets shit (just like every other pokemon that was made before gen 6)

That actually worked well in game? squirtle, I was so let down by the shitty starters of every other region, Swampert demolishes everything like you are brain dead, Feraligatr is okaish but not too good compared to starmie or other water types and it is physical despite no split in gen 2. I haven't tested piplup becauase I don't like it due to association with the stupid anime one and samurott is ass.

I really want to say Bulbasaur, I've played red and blue (and remakes) hundreds of times over the last two decades and Venesaur is one of my favourite pokemon of all time.

Blaziken, however, has my best memories of being not only a crazy-strong pokemon but also having a design that I find more appealing, it's both humanoid and bird-like and feels like a great combo for a bro pokemon to fight crime with or save the world. It can also be sexy, but I won't get into that here,
