>>43629451There's really something so powerful about the blissful, joyous statements so many trainers make in the Game Boy games like this. Even Gen III had that touch to the dialogue with trainers that they kind of lost later, I can't put my finger on what exactly it was.
The newer games are filled with this happy,fluffy, "MY POKEMON ARE MY FRIENDS" type stuff from NPCs but it really just doesn't have the same feeling behind it, I don't know. Maybe it's because the games have gotten considerably worse and I myself no longer feel so joyful when playing them, but I can still get warm and fuzzy seeing it in the old games.
