Forreal tho, a stronger Water attack is much appreciated since Prinplup doesn't get a better Water move than Bubble in DP until Bubblebeam at level 24 for some UNGODLY reason (changed to 19 in Platinum)

XY is a good first timer I think, it's pretty easy and theres a lot of Pokemon variety. FRLG also a good choice
My favourites are probably Plat or BW2, though they're MUCH harder

First check-in on my0 wedlocke as I make my way through Soul Silver. Beware of spoilers for the show LOST but not really cause the nuzlocke creates relationships that never happened but are amusing to me. All the names are picked from a randomizer where I listed all the character names.

Started with Richard the Totodile which I hope is a good sign since that would imply he is possibly immortal. Just like in the Heartgold run, I had to bypass lots of trainers to not over level myself before Faulkner or Bugsy. I went to route 32 and was praying for a not-wooper since I'm sure that would have guaranteed getting wiped in sprout tower. Picked up a Mareep there and I guess Richard got yellow fever cause I rolled Sun. She is not very effective against grass, but at least she wouldn't die to a vine whip. The type combo of Water/Electric should perform well. So I got through Sprout Tower/Faulkner/Bugsy basically with just those 2 since Illana died on the road.
I went to go get headbutt after Bugsy and did the rival battle. It wasn't difficult but holy shit that Bayleef is a tank. I hit it with growls so its razor leaf didn't threaten me, not even Richard. But between its natural bulk,Reflect, and Synthesis; I thought the fight was going to go into struggle territory. But some crits helped me out and now I could use headbutt and build a team.
Danielle/Hoot-Hoot married Hurley/Aipom. A couple of lunatics in love: what could go wrong? Interesting type pairing since Hurley will only be weak to fighting and Danielle could protect him from that. maybe
Meanwhile, Alexandra (Danielle's daughter) was transformed into a Slowpoke after being kidnapped. She appears to have also fallen for Charlie the Hoppip, who in typical rock-star fashion,is with the nearest teenage girl. Charlie being useless right now while also knowing "Splash" is funny shit. Decent type pairing if Charlie lives long enough to learn anything.

I finished Omega Ruby last week and then started Ultra Sun. Finished the first island, but now I need a break so I'm also nuzing FireRed (I'm on a mac, had trouble getting a hack to work so I'm just playing the vanilla). Dupes and shiny clause for both US and FR. Here's my team for FR so far (Chuck and the Sluts), on my way to 3rd badge. The dead are: Pidgey, Caterpie, Zubat, Pidgey, and Spearow. I'll post US team later.

Sidebar, I got FF7R in the mail yesterday for my bday last week, so...idk I'll be jumping between all three of these games. Quarantine's made me jumpy.

Gardenia down! Sure, Jan managed to take her down all by himself, thankfully Gardenia's DP team is slightly less scary than her Platinum team so it went swimmingly
Team is finally taking shape as well, took the time to run all the way back to Oreburgh after acquiring the Explorer Kit and getting a Skull Fossil to get an early Cranidos, hopefully he's not gonna crumble so easily!

I'm the one who decided to do the Shield Nuzloke out of boredom/curiosity though with not much time to play each day. I've just gotten to the first cave and I think there's no "!" encounters, just overworld ones.
How should I handle it now?

Lennon the Primeape got replaced because fighting is not that good this gen, maybe he'll get to shine in LeafGreen. The Celadon Eevee evolved into Vaporen (Flareon sucks and I cant use Jolteon), and after a couple easy gyms, a rival fight where Vance almos dies and a little more grinding we are ready for the league.

It's been several weeks and threads but I'm back. School got me. I'm finishing up my last exams now so I have time again.
New rule regards trade evolutions. Basically if there's no previous form, the Pokemon must be level 35 to evolve and if there is, it must be 12 levels higher than the level it evolves at normally. This is just to prevent bullshit like lv16 Alakazams making the game too easy. Speaking of trade evos, I decided to allow them for the champs clause. This means I can catch Pokemon like Haunter and Graveler because I was unable to get their evolved forms previously as long as they ultimately become their final form. I can catch Seadra in RSE because it can become a Kingdra but not in FRLG because it can't (normally at least).
As for Ruby, fortunately the game is very generous with balls. Way better than GSC. I caught a bunch of Pokemon but none could really help me much for Roxanne. My best bet was to train Lupa up to the cap and spam Sand-Attack and Bite. I got bored grinding (as I always do; 3 hours is way too much for the first badge imo) and went in at lv14 but as it turns out the combination of flinching and misses left Lupa without being hit.
Also added some character to the team members, why not?

Maybe I'm actually bad at Pokemon but Johto isn't super easy. The level curve is very low and that can make things easy but there are several bumps along the road. Rival 2 can fuck you if you don't have a decent counter (which at that point there aren't many). Whitney and Clair are infamous. Team Rocket doesn't seem bad because of low levels but everything explodes. I'd also say the remakes are harder due to modern mechanics, better movesets/items... even some gyms are higher leveled.
That said, sorry for your losses. Hope Heracross serves you well.

I personally treat gift and prize Pokémon such that as your "encounter" for the area.
So for your example, for instance, one Game Corner mon is fine but I can't grab an Eevee since it's acquired in the same city. In the same vein, I'll never grab both a Hitmon and Lapras in a Kanto nuzlock.

Speaking of,
1- 3 and I grab a Dratini, 4-6 I grab a Abra, 7-0 I grab an Eevee

It takes a certain tree to get Heracross? Is that a HGSS thing? I had not heard of it. but it makes sense now cause when I went to route 46, I was headbutting a bunch of trees and nothing would happen. Bulbapedia says there is a 30% encounter route for Heracross but NOTHING was appearing. I even left the route and came back to see if it was a glitch I had to "reset" or something. Still nothing. I was frustrated cause that was the only route I could still get it on cause I got Aipom back in Azalea. So I started to literally headbutt every tree on the route in clockwise order. Ended up popping out on the left side of tree when you come into the route. I wore him down, put him to sleep, and it still took 2 net balls to snag him. Hardy indeed

Moving on to the new pairings. Walt is the psychic eggs. Hilarious and obvious really. I also am amused by Kate adding to her criminal record by marrying a minor. But as chuckle-inducing as this couple is, the double-grass-typing signals disaster in the future to me.

Mr. Eko is going to learn aerial ace naturally, I just learned. And he resists fighting.

Chuck (my biggest gymleader fear) should be no problem if he makes it that far. Charlotte is his wife and water types are almost always good in my experience. Certainly potential there, and funnily enough I think they can both learn megahorn.

I've moved my memorial to the dead section and I am making a leaderboard for widows/widowers. I hope Hurley is permanent leader but if I start having trouble then at least we can make serial killer jokes or something.

Fiddled a little with the internal clock and went into Dark Cave in the hopes of finding a Teddiursa (and praying that the little shit doesn't run away)

I do 1 giftmon each new area. If you feel like just taking it would be too cheap you can randomise which one you get, the Eevee or one of the Game Corner ones (you can also include having to catch a Grimer or Muk in the little pond instead of a giftmon).

In my first SacredGold Run one of the trees in front of Bugsy's gym had them; Second run I go straight for that same tree after getting Headbutt but the I get only Spearow and Aipom, now is the tree to the left of the pokemon center the right one. They are easier to catch than Aipom but still play hard to get. Also

Finished my emerald nuzlocke, lost aggron / walrein / gardevoir on wallace, the other 3 made it through.

Had a lot of good first encounters on routes such as ralts on it's 5% rate.

Hey Everyone!
I started a full series nuzlocke on here back in like, late October or so. I don't know if anyone's still here from that time. Anyway, I couldn't update my journey, for like, a week or 2, as leakerchad was blowing our minds. After I finished Green, I just dropped it, but I'm in the mood for Pokémon, so I'm back!
Anyway, I just started Blue. ID ended with a 6, so I get Charmander!
If anyone's wondering about the names, letters are drawn using RNG (vowels have equal likelyhood to constanants), so they're pretty much random.

Whitney actually went really well. Could have gone south when Takeshi got hit by attract but he pulled through.
Rival 3 ended up being a disaster though, Takeshi took Bayleef fairly easily (though he was in a somewhat compromised position having been poisoned), but Samson got confuse hax'd by Zubat and that ended up costing me two mons in the end.

Since I'm apparetly too much of a scrub to beat Hyper Emerald, I'm trying a different Emerald hack this time. Was disappointed by some of the encounters, but everyone on the team is managing to hold their own so far. Even fucking Burmy is putting in work, so much so that I didn't even bother swapping it out when I caught a seventh mon, even though it's male and I already have a Bug/Flying-type on the team. I did have way too many close calls though, thank fuck for Figy Berries. I ended up overeleveling for Roxanne based on my experience with Hyper Emerald, but she was way easier than some of the random trainers.

I dropped Butters for an Aron I caught in Granite Cave. No point having two Bug/Flyings on the team and I've used Butterfree enough times. Grinding for Brawly was a pain in the ass with all the Rock-types that gave crap Exp., and Toad was doing jack shit against them with its pitiful stats, especially since I dropped Mega Drain for Bullet Seed. I grinded a few extra levels to evolve him so he wouldn't be so useless, and Charlie evolved as well. Brawly was a cakewalk up until Hariyama (Force Palm too stronk) but we managed to make it through with no deaths.

Little update.
Morty was surprisingly simple to deal with but that definitely was because Charge grants Special Defense boost. Sun and Richard made wasy work of them. Mr. Eko and Charlotte were also grinded up for the gym and did work against the underlings. I didn't bother working on Kate and Walt because they wouldn't learn anything simple.
So after the gym I started training my grass duo/looking around for encounters. A trainer killed Kate and the child groom was so traumatized he needed therapy but then married his therapist Libby. Gonna spend some time grabbing the few pokemon I can while training them up. They should be a better match for Chuck than Eko and Charlotte.

Morty lived up to his name, given how mortifying the fight was for my team. Was lucky enough to only lose one Pokemon, even if it was my starter.
Eusine was a complete motherfucker and I now understand why Suicune avoids the guy. Luckily no causalities, in part because I was running Corsola in my main team at the time and I was able to abuse natural cure to PP stall Hypnosis (which seems to have 90% accuracy when the cheating bastard uses it) because I didn't want a repeat of Morty.
Next three gyms had scary moments but not much worth talking about. Wakasagi was both MVP (by taking down his final mon with Perish Song and tanking it for the duration) and almost caused a wipe (by missing Water Pulse against his Mamoswine like 3 times in a row) during Pryce, which was kind of funny.

I take it back. I was just kind of tilted that I couldn't beat some gyms lmao. I've done gen 3 nuzlockes with Torchic before and it has served me well, but it is not as helpful because of my ruleset. Quick one before I do a bunch of playing tonight. Charlotte died when I stumbled into the sister's hide out and had to fight 4 pokemon with just the 2 of them, including a Starmie!. Ana Lucia is going to comfort Mr. Eko through this mourning period. You see there is a saying in my hometown regarding moving on romantically from a white woman. Latina women are like a good detergent. 50% thiccer and clean twice as good. Ana can also learn ice moves and Shadow Claw later which will cover Mr. Eko's weaknesses.
I'm headed to the pokeathlon to grab a water stone since it is only available on Wednesdays and I play an emulator so the time only changes when I am playing. Just in case I need to use Poliwag later. I'm also pretty sure I have used up all my encounters except for a Mantine before Chuck. Or if I get blessed by a Snubbel.

Unfortunately his reign of terror was cut short by the last Dragonite, and I had to mourn the death of our true hero before quickly avenging him and taking the win.

Was a pretty fun run, if a little slow at the end. This is actually the first Nuzlocke I've ever beat properly. Maybe one day i'll come back to Johto and play it all the way through to Red, but that will probably be in Heartgold, not this.

Gonna try Omega Ruby next. Technically blind since I haven't played it before, but I've played so much Gen 3 Hoenn it shouldn't matter - assuming no major changes.

I'm getting my ass fucking handed to me on this run.
Spent ages training up my exeggcute and koffing since I thought they would be total Chuck-killers as a team. They get fucking bodied by the first trainer inside's hitmonchan thanks to freeze hacks. BUT HEY AT LEAST THE STATUTORY RAPE IS OFF THE TEAM.
Ana Lucia died earlier to a trainer in the lighthouse and now Richard/Sun are starting to look at Mr. Eko funny. Shannon is a bit of an air-head so she married him anyway. But maybe she sees something in him the others do not.
Didn't find any Mantine on the way to Cianwood so Penny is with Jin now. I vaguely remember Ledian being a boss in the original gen 2 titles cause it could learn all the punches but I do not think that is an option here.
aww shit I just realized i screwed up the picture. I did get a corsola. He name is Juliet and shee is currently in the box. Glad I got plenty of time to grind tonight. I think it will now be Mr. Eko/SHannon taking point against Chuck later.

Dude hell yeah! Best of luck! Keep the champs are ineligible rule in mind when making your team. My original Red team had 4 pokemon that could have run through Kanto basically by themselves. If I could go back, i would have (for example) saved Gyarados for post-physical/special split. Of course, untimely deaths usually don't let us choose our teams. Which is part of the fun!

The way I play, one Pokemon per area period, even if it's a gift mon. That of course includes cities.
The only exceptions (unless you're doing shiny clause) are in-game trades.

I also took a break because we took some heavy losses, with Wright, Carson, Darwin, and Hopper losing their lives. But... I forget how they died, so I'm just labeling it as the Great May Culling.

Not an update but I wanted to express how /comfy/ it is playing this on my childhood ds lite. It's hinge doesn't work properly and it's kinda floppy but this is so much better than the SP for me. The display is so nice and the build quality seems better than even my 3ds.

It's always the same: easy gyms and a lot of deaths in quick succession in the middle.

I beat Wattson! Maybe it's not that impressive but he has always been one of the toughest gym leaders for me. Magnemite went down easy, and when I was fighting Voltorb, I first sent in Fenrir to get an Intimidate off and then sent in Damascus to tank a theoretical Selfdestruct. After a few Mud-Slaps, Voltorb used Selfdestruct and missed. Then Magneton went in. I used one Mud-Slap and tried to switch, but I couldn't. I completely forgot about Magnet Pull. It was not feasible; Shock Wave was doing over half damage, and it showed no sign of stopping because it cannot miss. Damascus had to die. Fortunately, Phillay was able to revenge kill with one Double Kick.
Meanwhile, Cirica and Aut leveled up a bit in the daycare. I don't think I'll use them yet, but I've never gotten a Loudred past Wattson in a nuzlocke before so if there's space, I'll probably put in Aut.

I am having very good luck! I don't lnow if I was just retarded in my last two games, but Blue is going very well. Let's hope I don't Jynx it. I didn't get fucked by the Rocket's Raticate in Mt. Moon, I didn't get fucked by the Jr. Trainer's Mankey on Nugget Bridge. I almost got fucked by Misty, but I came out well.
Here's how the Misty battle played out:
I led with Eiyeah the Rattata, and had him Hyper Fang the Staryu, leaving the Staryu with about 30% of its HP left. Her Bubble did about 40% worth of damage to me, but luckily a critical Quick Attack finished her off.
My plan for Starmie worked out as well. I switched out to Baifibakhd and Sand Attacked once. That Starmie's Bubble Beam took a little over half of Baifibakhd's HP, so that was all I could do. I switched out to Wimfesaxe and used Poison Powder. Basically, I stalled, only attacking with Confusion whenever Wimfesaxe had full HP. I basically just had to hope that I didn't get critted by a Bubble Beam, as I thought that would surely lead my Butterfree to an early grave. At the VERY LAST turn, that happened, and my heart dropped when I realized this Bubble Beam was a crit. Fortunately, Wimfesaxe survived, and poison killed the Starmie. (Check out the next post for a screenshot).
Kind of a pussy way to win, but this is a Nuzlocke, and you got to do what you got to do.

I like the little stories you do with your Pokémon. I usually do that as well, but I haven't really included any of that in my posts. For Green, I did a "king" thing, where my starter started as the king, and when he was killed and replaced, that Pokémon would become king/queen, and so on.

Poor Jin the Ledian was destined for death it seems. Faced him off against a Hitmonlee in Chuck's gym. Keep in mind, fighting moves are only 0.25x effective against him. 2 swaggers and his confusion and anger toward Richard for taking Sun lead to him mauling himself. Hitmonlee hits the Hi-Jump Kick with a crit and the tragedy is complete.
However, Desmond is brought in off the bench to be with Penny. Now as a little Natu he was frankly useless. Had no offensive moves at all, not even night shade, when he was caught. No wonder he was so timid. However, with Penny's encouragement he has grown into a fine Xatu. He has grown in confidence to where he uses Fly to great effect despite his lowered attack nature. It is going to be a long time before he actually learns any Psychic moves, but with Penny by his side, anything is possible.
Shannon is modest and acts as such. I was excited to use Crunch with her but her nature precludes that. However, it has spiked the power of her psybeam. She single-handedly ran over Chuck with no problem at all. Same for Radio tower and the rockets. Mr. Eko was flashier when he swept Pryce and Jasmine, but Shannon is certainly pulling her weight.
Richard is in his final form. I'm using agility with him for now to offset Sun's slowness.
Though everyone who can evolve has, their movesets are not complete,especially Sun's. Famous Last Words: I think the worst is behind us!

When it comes to nuzlockes, get the wins in whatever way works within the rules. I've twice used Perish Song pokemon for example. The satisfaction of watching Cynthia's Garchomp attack uselessly when it only has a couple turns left to live is the least the game owes us considering how it fucks us with freezing, paralyzing, endless hitting ourselves in confusion, way too many flinches in a row, etc.

I got on autopilot fighting the rockets. Shannon's psybeams for the poison types, Mr. Eko's brick break for the raticates. Repeat a few dozen times and defeat the mafia. So I just waltzed into the final executive fight and totally forgot about the houndour and houndoom! For fuck sake, it is not as if I have gone through Johto 4 times already, how was I supposed to know?! Managed to get by the houndour but the houndoom was just too much. Mr. Eko's 3rd wife is dead and he joined her this time. Just terrible, they were my best physical and special attackers.
My reserve pokemon pool is so thin that I now have four water types! Poliwrath can threaten a wide range of enemies with its movepool and Corsola came with status healing and recover. individually they are great. But together; it just will take just one electric type to have an awful day. I didn't go with Sunkern because I cannot evolve it till post-Elite 4.
I also think I only have 3 or 4 encounters left before the league. Route before the Ice Path, the Ice Path itself, the route south of Blackthorn, and maybe the cave attached to that route? I need to double check if there are any new pokemon for me in there or just the usual rocks and bats. Starting to have my back up against the wall here.

After Wattson I went north and got a few catches, including (miraculously) a Zangoose. I then proceeded to waste all my balls on a Solrock which I didn't even catch. Nothing eventful happened on Mt. Chimney and Flannery was a breeze due to Swords Dance/Slash.
Then I went to the desert and got a Trapinch and a Lileep. I wanted Lil Dilly to be this stallmon with Toxic/Ingrain/Confuse Ray to just fuck with major battles, and to an extent it worked, but it made grinding hell. When I was finally done, I fought my dad.
I sent out Phillay and hoped to set up several Bulk Ups. However, on the first turn I was outsped and died to a critical hit. Fantastic. I sent in Lil Dilly to wear the Slaking down with Toxic, and after a while it worked. However, the fucker encored me into Toxic. Norman sent in his next Slaking and I saw the writing on the wall. I Ingrained myself in so I couldn't switch, and even if I did Fenrir would be fucked. From full health Lil Dilly died to Focus Punch. At this point I was terrified at the prospect of losing again. I sent in Fenrir to revenge kill and fortunately the Toxic helped (for some reason the Slaking was in Truant for its first turn, idk why). Then I had to fight the Vigoroth. I wasn't doing as much damage as I hoped, but in the end Fenrir survived with 5hp. I feel so much less secure about my team now that my starter is gone and my wall is down. I like who I have individually but they are pretty frail as a team.

Plan ahead, Anon, you can get some good catches on route 35 if you go there in morning hours: Skarmory, Phanpy and Donphan. Gligar can be decent and can be evolved after you win the league (just go to the Battle Factory for easy, 0 risk BP, you don't use your pokemon and you don't black out). I think you can surf in Twinleaf for a Psyduck/Golduck. Also, the route before Pal Park has some encounters. (Tentacool, Wingull?) You also have Riolu coming up, plus you can go back to Fuego Ironworks now and grab something. You can do it anon!

With Torchic vs Treecko, the former is better in Hoenn. The remakes bridge the gap somewhat though - Sceptile actually getting moves earlier helps a huge deal. Both have huge portions of the game where they have issues though - Treecko's is from Wattson through to Winona, while Torchic's is from Route 119 (due to rain) all the way to the Elite Four. I'd still say Treecko is the worst in ORAS mostly because of Blaziken's strong E4 performance, but it's a closer gap.

Then you have Mudkip, which is probably the most broken ingame starter in any game.

So far I'm really noticing just how easy Diamond is compared to Platinum, I'm used to struggling hardcore in Sinnoh, so it feels weird just...kinda breezing through
Not that I'm complaining however, as I'm definitely not looking forward to dealing with some of the deathmatches that Platinum has (early Fantina, Barry on the bridge, all of the Cyrus fights etc)

I'd recommend the originals. The movesets are balanced around gen 2, so a lot of trainers are actually a fair bit easier in the remakes where you now have access to much stronger mons. they did change the movesets a little bit tho so it's not that much different. Both are kinda easy as far as nuzlockes go, 0 chance of losing a pokemon to a regular trainer and much more grinding if you do lose one. I like Johto but the games aren't fun to nuzlocke overall.

After the first badge, managed to roll through the proceeding routes fairly quickly. Been trying not to take so many stupid chances, so I have been making return trips to the Pokemon Center fairly often. Decided to pass up on the Magikarp down on Route 3 - rather would hook when it's of a higher level and closer to evolving. Getting to Cerulean, I thought I'd have my Paras help with clearing the gym, but then decided to switch gears and rely on my starter, the stronger of the two. Alright it's been a couple days, have been scared to continue because I had a run in with a real tough battle and it was just a normal trainer, but am finally continuing.
I now have put together a team for what I hope to be the endgame (will probably end up being only for the next hour), and also have many new quality mons in the box (mostly water types).
I'll be able to try and get the mega-z ring I think before the next gym, but there's a couple hard fights with mons in the upper 80s pushing 90s, and I don't want to fuck with that quite yet since my cap is 80.
Dumb blog posts will continue after the gym battle, that is if I get through the upcoming fights that I know will be bullshit.

My plans to take on Surge hit a hiccup when I lost Sandy in battling my Rival - Charmeleon happened to crit with an Ember I was not expecting. Had to take a sidetrip through Diglett's Cave for a new dirt-lad, bringing Digger onto the team. Handled most of the gym match alright, but had to switch out for Seeder when Raichu was proving difficult to nail down after stacking a few Double Teams.

Stinger is hanging on with the team for the time being, but will likely be put on the reserve list soon as dedicated Cut-user.

I'd say Platinum or gen 5. Platinum can be rough but you also get given a lot of good Pokemon as well. Gen 5 just has a much faster pace than everything else (besides Swords and Shield, which are only fast paced because they're really short) and also have a good balance between powerful Pokemon and difficulty. BW2 doesn't really start off too strong though.

And with that, we are victorious. This has been an interesting run, what with the restrictions I put on the pokemon I can catch. The beginning was probably one of the hardest I've had in any of the challenges I've done, but the teammates I rolled with this time were pretty cool and interesting to use. I'll be moving on to my next challenge after I casually play through the FR post-game.

Well, a took a bit to input everything, but here it is, the first post of the Autismlocke I've started. Starting off with Green version entirely in Japanese. Not knowing what anything says and having to go entirely off memory is making the play-through feel surprisingly refreshing. Really looking forward to getting Gen 1 out of the way though... Just finished clearing Rocket Hideout in the Game Corner. I'm currently at Celadon PokeCenter, wondering what I should do from here. Take on Gym immediately? Backtrack to Lavender for extra EXP then take on the gym? Go back to daycare and get Raticate? (Dropped him off at level 20 after beating Misty so he's definitely gained at least 1 level) I haven't had a single death yet, which I feel fortunate for (grinding here and there helped desu), but I can't help but feel like I'm overdo, hence my hesitation with the gym. Thoughts?

Decided to just go for it and take on Erika right away. She didn't give me much trouble at all, although her Victreebel's Razor Leaf scared me a bit, what with the almost guaranteed crits. Half-way on badges, woo!

After that I mopped the floor with everyone in Pokemon Tower, took on both Snorlaxes (caught the one south of Lavender, killed the other one), and got fly for Pidgeotto, which means he FINALLY has a flying move now lol.

Personally I don't count fainted mons in my champs, but I know there are others who count anyone that enters the E4 to be champs, and those that are in the middle that consider those who enter the Champion to be champs.
It's really up to you honestly, depending on what you feel is best

As for nicknames, I know a lot of people like to go with themes to help rope it in slightly, personally I like going with the approach of just choosing whatever comes to mind and just be silly and dumb with it

Emerald started! pretty standard beggining.. Except for the early shiny Nincada. This is mighty interesting, it can solo Juan and almost solo Wallace (only Toxic can kill Shedinja there). Does Shedinja take damage from Spikes or fixed damage attacks other than Night Shade?

ShaggyDog is our only death til now, but he died like a hero, using pocket sand against Nosepass. The only attacks it could land after -6 accuracy were the Block that trapped Shaggy and the Rock Tomb that killed him. He will be remembered. Brawly shouldn't be much of an issue with this team, but he can always prove me wrong.

This (should) be my most interesting twist since the ban on buying pokeballs; Pokemon cannot be used in consecutive gyms. I've been rewatching Mumkey Jones's nuzlockes and this is one of his rules (though he was not the first to come up with it). Basically it forces me to strategize even more for gyms since I have to plan ahead for which Pokemon will be available. For Roxanne I used Marshall and La Pina (to be fair, I didn't have much better choices). I will not be able to use them for Brawly, but I will be able to for the next gym.

Well I was really nervous about Juliet because she did not have much of a moveset in her 30s, and she would need to be the one to beat Clair's Gyarados and Kingdra since ben would just die instantly to them. So I ended up going with Desmond and Penny against her. Desmond beat her Gyarados and then Penny dealt with the rest. Got an assist from a dumbass dragonair who hit her with a water move for a heal.
Spent some time grinding afterwards so that I could get everyone to the movesets they have now. Especially Juliet because her hustle accuracy drop has sucked so I am going to take her in a special rather than physical direction. Hoping Power gem will do some work. But fuck are her stats bad. Corsola's gimmickl is supposed to be defense but even with EV training her special defense is worse than Sun's.
Speaking of Sun, the spirit of Jin the Ledian (canonical husband) descended on her in the form of a Heart Scale. The Space-Time continuum bent and he granted the move Fire Punch.

I'm off to the Kimono girls and the Lugia afterwards. Here is a bit of a problem though. I cannot just use repels and toss a master ball at it like I have done with other legendary pokemon. Wedlocke rules prevent catching genderless pokemon. So I have to actually defeat it.

Volbeat set up +6 evasion against Machop and used confusion and Silk Scarf-boosted Quick Attacks to take it down slowly. Stringer pulls ahead of the pack as MVP - soloed most of Fuchsia Gym and Koga all on her own, even while poisoned. Had an extremely close match with Gary at Silph Co. Miraculously, Jolter and Musher handled his entire team. Though a lot of close calls; I knew sending in a Jolteon against a Charizard might result in it getting incinerated, but it never used the flame once. And though I was sure I was gonna lose Musher to Alakazam's Future Sight, it didn't do as much as I thought and was able to hang on with Leech Life.
