They're interesting pokemon that add mystery and flavor to the setting, give players more goals to play with (catching all of the unknown) and can be used in fun ways like gen 4. Personally I miss the Unknown and hope that if we do get gen4 remakes, the unknown play a part in a plot with Arceus

Use them to spell your name. Capture the whole alphabet. The third movie made them seem cool and powerful, was sad when I went to try and capture them and hope they got all-powerful if I had them all, and was a little sad when they didn't get more powerful like in the movie.
