Once Crystal came out and it was the same shit as GS but with a few extra tweaks, it was obvious what was happening with this series. And it only got worse with every passing generation. Gen 2 was the last good generation of Pokemon, and even then its short main story and garbage Kanto postgame made it inferior to gen 1.
