I usually don't bother importing mons from previous generations becauses the process to do it is almost always obtuse and annoying, even beyond borrowing a gameboy (plus paying for the privilege of a link cable pre-gen IV, etc). Transferring mons isn't worth it except for one you really want. And even then it's almost always easier to find some anon online who's giving them away.
