So I've been with the franchise since Gen 1. played RB, watched the anime, collected toys, standard Pokefan stuff. But when I hear about the craze Pokemon had during that time, I must admit that I felt I was never a part of it, and there's one reason for that: I never managed to find a group of kids who liked Pokemon during that time. I don't remember ANYONE being into it when I was in Kindergarten or 1st grade. To the best of my memory there were no kids showing off their cards on the blacktop or pulling out their gameboys to trade and battle together. It wasn't until my 2nd and 3rd grade years that I found kids who were interested, and that was during Gen 3's heyday.
So yeah, that's why despite being a fan since the originals, I don't think I was ever a part of the social phenomenon the franchise was at that time. Does any other OG fan here share a similar oddity?
