The only issues with platinum that come to mind are pokemon distribution and slowness both of which are present in HGSS. However platinum at least manages to shine in other areas, it has a much larger region with more varied environments and a really amazing difficulty due to it's amazing level curve and the movesets on trainers. HGSS sucks in both those aspects as well as the previously mentioned ones. So what does HGSS even fucking have as a boon? The only argument I see at this point is "It's just so comfy and immersive" and I agree but that's subjective and don't make something "The best pokemon games ever" since there's just so many other areas that the games lack in that something like platinum pick up on.
In fact, the ONLY arguments I've ever seen aside from this are even more subjective like "Team rocket is better" or "the pokemon are better" or even fucking "Gen 2 was really good for it's time so the remakes of them are automatically that good too" for fucks sake which is such a stupid thing to say.
I can completely understand why someone would have them as their favorites I LOVE the games for their immersion but not everyone thinks immersion is all that matters, and the games suck in almost every other way.
