That's how Gear Project works, grunts make game ideas, bosses play them, see which one they enjoy most (not what'll sell, what they personally enjoy playing) and due to not having to worry about where the next yen's coming from like other studios, can afford to fund the project. That Tajiri's still head of the company and still as big a game nerd as he was when he first sat down to write the first issue of Game Freak kinda indicates why it got greenlit, this shit is the EXACT type of out-of-the-box thinking he wants his underlings to have as it's what kept them going in the early days when it was Capsule monsters.
