It barely does anything to mitigate the level of violence on display (a Pokemon wincing in pain as they're hit by a physical attack vs. a Pokemon wincing in pain as they're enveloped by a dust cloud)
Not every move hitting/clashing with another move needs to result in a shockwave or straight up fireball
