There's a lot of them and they're usually heavily outclassed by mons that just invest in one attacking stat.

doesn't help that some of them are really slow or frail.

Introduce mixed attacks, which use both your physical and special attack to calculate damage.

There should be some kind bonus for maxing 252 EV on both offensive stats. Like a damage bonus increase.

Just pick the ones that are painfully bad and boost their stats/ability/movepool in the most sensible way you can think of.

It's not "great", but I think we need more unorthodox sand abusers that aren't ground type. Needle arm is a no-drawback 120BP stab with sand up, but you still have the option to run giga drain for recovery.

I can't believe sandaconda of all snake mons is faster than seviper, and with a better stab in EQ. I don't want to go overboard but I really feel it needs dark typing: makes it different from arbok, gives it a nice sucker punch stab, better defensive typing, prankster immunity, fits more or less well with its lore.

alter the EV system so that you need to have more EVs to increase a stat past certain values

1 EVs = +1 stat up until 16 points, then 2 EVs = +1 stat point until 32, 4 EVs = +1 stat until 48 and so on

Natures should take whatever you lose from taking 10% from the lowest stat and putting that raw number towards your bonus stat instead of a 10% increase. Would solve a lot of problems.

Speed is such a bullshit stat in this game that discussing anything else for this purpose is pointless.
Blaziken started decent, then became shit and frail in comparison with Infernape, then got banned to places like ubers and anything goes only due to speed boost.

Remove EVs and Natures. Shit on almost every pokemon's movepool so they don't all have a STAB move and are often forced to use a move not in their type to do decent damage.

Yeah. Back then mixed attackers were usable and some were even good. Zapdos, for instance, could run both Drill Peck and Thunderbolt and this was considered a good use of Zapdos.

I miss this a lot, in gen 2 mixed attacking was totally viable.

now when you run it you lose a lot in doing so like speed or raw attacking power, i really hope it changes soon.

You can't.
Specializing in one attacking stat will always be better than splitting focus between two, outside of specific conditions like needing to run hidden power on a physical mon or something.

mixed attackers are completely incapable of being good unless their stats are so fucking high they don't care about fully investing in the other one and even then it's usually just to run one specific coverage move
see: deo-a, primal kyogre, mega diancie, pheromosa, etc

Slow mixed attackers are kind of still fucked, but that's more an issue with the speed stat.
