Why is the gen8 OU meta so fucking boring?
Is UU any better? Gen8 fucking sucks but it left an itch that OU can't scratch

Most of the problems weren't created by Smogon, they were created by changes made by GF in Gen VIII.

Pokemon and gimmicks don't change the identity of a meta. Items, abilities, moves and mechanical changes have a far bigger impact.

it's a unsatisfactory loop of a match either lasting forever, boots really made a big difference. Doesn't help that body press made defensive mons even better.

Not really, they were created by Smogon. Early meta was nothing like this with exploration of the Dynamax mechanic in the form of a Gyarados/Hawlucha/Ditto triangle as well as general other methods of using the mechanic, and you also had things like using Dmax to break choice lock at the cost of having an itemless mon for three turns. This meta is what they've chosen to prop up, and look how they won't even suspect Clefable now.

How come none of this fat balance shit is a problem in Natdex?
Natdex banned Dynamax just like regular OU, but they don't have to deal with totally-not-stall cancer.

It's mostly clef and dracovish's fault, teleclef is the face of fatass balance and that playstyle is just so good in a Dracovish meta.
I'm so glad the fish is going to fucking die, and hopefully clef gets nuked after the DLC as well once enough people realize complete momentum control does not make for a healthy meta and DLC changes none of that

Besides, GameFreak only removed pokémon because of their incompetence in the first place.
