What games made you drop the franchise? For me was pic related (got into Pokemon again with ORAS) and USUM

Black & White.
But I gave it a second go and now I think it's better than Sinnoh by a long shot. I was initially put off by the designs but I opened up to them and enjoyed the new region

Black and White made me drop the franchise. I knew that Black and White were the peak of the series. There was no doing better than Black and White. Gamefreak poured all of their hearts, effortm and resources into one game and this was the result. There is no surpassing Black and White.

B2W2 because I was burnt out on annual (bi annual if you count japanese release) games and I just wanted a 3DS entry by then. XY got me back but I can't say I was impressed either. After USUM and seeing how SWSH is I'm done

i haven't "dropped the series" but the last mainline game I bought was pokemon black. X/Y and SUMO didn't look appealing to me, and SWSH looks like garbage so I'm just not going to bother. I'll buy another game when they make one thats worth my money, until then I'll just replay older ones and do other shit with my time.

I didn't buy it but upon reveal it was at that point where I said to myself "Well, if there ever was a time to stop mindlessly consuming, it's now."
I haven't gotten back into the franchise, meaning I also didn't get Sword/Shield. I WANT to get back into it but not until they make something worthwhile, which I fear will be never. If they botch Gen 9 too I'm probably gonna stop concerning myself with Pokemon altogether.

Dropped mid gen 5 because i went into a "pokemon is gay" phase, came back for oras. Sucks i didnt buy bw2 on release because now they're my favorite games.
