I've been here before SWSH and I will be here after SWSH. This will all be over once dlc has been released and everyone's played through it in a month. Everyone will want to speculate on next gen and forget this archaic gen even happened.

Yet no one cared for 7 generations.
No one made daily SEETHE threads over SuMo, ORAS, XY etc.
The only reason people hate SwSh is because dextrannies didn't get their dex. No one cared over the nitpick issues of past games. Not even the dextranny-champion Distant Kingdom ever made a complaining video before gen 8 in his 5 year old youtube channel.

The instant I USUM was announced and Z didn't get a release I knew Gamefreak would never create a truly great pokemon game ever again. XY was salvagable if they made a platinum level upgrade in Z, but instead SM was rushed to take advantage of the anniversary (remember "it all comes together"?) and USUM made minimal changes and marketed itself as a sequel to trick people into buying more copies. It's a little sad but the experience we want from a pokemon game will never exist again.
