What ability could it have that would make it OU.
And don't name some obviously broken ability like Protean or a trapping ability. You says "an actually useful ability" which implies that you just mean anything decent rather than something god-tier.
Obviously Duraludon would be OU or even Uber with something like Adaptability or Contrary, but most mons would be.

Muk is a pretty good example. Power of Alchemy is worthless, if it had a good ability it would definitely jump to OU.

Doubt it would have brought it to OU but at least Mega Audino could have done something more of note if Healer affected both of your Pokémon similarly to Aurora Veil.

Not to mention Florges who got cucked out of an actually amazing ability solely because she was not Grass type herself.

Just looked up on Florges’s ability and holy shit it got cucked hard, like they could of done three things to fix this (either as you mentioned make Florges a grass type, had the ability affect fairy types as well as grass or have the ability function how it is now but also affect Florges even if it isn’t a grass type) but somehow Gamefreak chose none of these solutions and Instead decided to fuck it over.
