I thought a lot of Pokémon in Gold and Silver were game-only Pokémon (example: the Johto starters, Weedle and it's evolutions, Caterpie and it's evolutions, etc) and never existed in the anime. I also remember thinking Seviper was available in G/S/C, I wanted a male Miltank. To me, the caves and ledges looked like Malteasers stacked and put in a line respectively. I remember thinking Ice Path was this long path of ice over a large crevice and I thought the painting in Sprout Tower hid something. In R/S/E, I remember thinking that you could climb the Secret Base trees and explore the surrounding treetops and in the Slateport Shipyard, I thought the girders were steps into the second floor. In R/B/Y, the sides of the game machines in the Game Corner looked like ramps. And nearly every waterway blocked by rocks would be hiding something new and exciting... Til I discovered Walk Through Walls....
